No matter what stage of your career you are in, planning for retirement is important. Syracuse University faculty and staff are invited to join the following free lunchtime sessions: one will describe the benefits and services available to retirees, and two, presented by TIAA, will describe the steps you can take to plan for a financially secure future.


Overview of the Syracuse University Retiree Benefits

Considering retirement in the next few years? Wondering where to start, what to plan for? Please join us for an overview of the University’s retiree benefits, presented by Kristen Otter, human resources senior benefits specialist. This session will focus on topics such as the University’s retiree medical and prescription drug plan, when to apply for Medicare, options under COBRA, educational benefits, and other benefits and services available to retirees.

Saving for your Ideal Retirement

In the midst of a busy life and career, it’s easy to forget that retirement is closer than you think. Join us for a presentation with TIAA on Tuesday, Sept. 19 to learn about the University’s retirement plans, advantages of participating, and how to update your account with TIAA. After covering these basics, you’ll learn how to create an effective plan to help you pursue your long-term retirement goals.
