Campaign Overview

Join Syracuse University in raising awareness for heart disease prevention on National Wear Red Day, Friday, Feb. 6, 2026. Wear red and submit photos celebrating heart health and our campus community.

Why Wear Red?

Heart disease remains the leading cause of death in the U.S., affecting both men and women. National Wear Red Day is a powerful reminder to prioritize cardiovascular health through regular exercise, healthy eating, stress management and preventive care. By participating, you’re joining a nationwide movement to raise awareness and inspire others to take heart health seriously.

How to Participate

Wear your favorite red clothing or accessories on Friday, Feb. 6. Snap a photo of yourself, your department or your team showing your red pride. Submit photos through the online form and select submissions will be featured on the Wellness Initiative Teams channel and website.

Friendly Competition

The school, college or business unit with the highest percentage of employee participation will win a Dark Chocolate Party for their entire team. Rally your colleagues and encourage everyone to participate for a chance to celebrate together.

Photo Submission Details

Email your photos to wellness@syr.edu or use the online submission form by Tuesday, Feb. 10. All submissions will count towards determining the school, college or business with the highest percentage of participation and the winner of a Dark Chocolate Party!
